English Translation:

Certainly, here is Dua Istikhara with English translation:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

O Allah, I seek Your guidance [in making a choice] by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your immense favor, for indeed You alone decree fate while I do not, and You (alone) know (all things) while I do not, and You alone possess all knowledge of the Unseen.

O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me as it pertains to my religion, my life, and livelihood, and to the final outcomes of my affairs, then decree it for me, facilitate it for me, and then bless it for me.

And if You know that this matter is harmful to me in my religion, my livelihood, and the aftermath of my affair, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and ordain for me the good wherever it may be, and cause me to be pleased with it.

This supplication is a means for seeking Allah’s guidance and is often recited when faced with decisions or uncertainties.

It reflects a humble submission to Allah’s knowledge and trust in His wisdom to guide the believer toward choices that align with His divine plan.

How To Pray Istikhara?

Praying Istikhara involves a specific supplication (dua) and a brief prayer, seeking Allah’s guidance when deciding. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to pray Istikhara:

Step 1: Have a Sincere Intention

Begin with a sincere intention (niyyah) to seek Allah’s guidance in making the decision you are facing. Your intention should be genuine, and you should approach the prayer with humility and trust in Allah’s wisdom.

Step 2: Perform Wudu (Ablution)

Before praying Istikhara, ensure that you are in a state of ritual purity by performing wudu.

Step 3: Choose the Appropriate Time

While Istikhara can be performed at any time, choosing a time during the night is considered more virtuous. However, it is not restricted to nighttime, and you can pray in Istikhara at any time that is convenient for you.

Step 4: Two Rak’ahs of Optional Prayer

Perform two rak’ahs (units) of optional prayer, just as you would with any other voluntary prayer. This is not obligatory, but it is a recommended practice before making the Istikhara supplication.

Step 5: Recite Istikhara Dua

After completing the two rak’ahs, recite the dua Istikhara (supplication). Here is the dua in Arabic:

Step 6: Personalize the Dua

While reciting the dua, replace the word (this matter) with specifics related to your decision. Mention the particular choice or situation you are seeking guidance for.

Step 7: Trust in Allah’s Wisdom

After reciting the dua, trust in Allah’s wisdom and believe that He will guide you to what is best. Be open to signs, feelings, or circumstances that may help clarify your decision.

Step 8: Repeat as Necessary

You can repeat the Istikhara prayer for several nights if needed, especially if you haven’t found clarity or are facing a prolonged decision-making process.

Remember that Istikhara is a form of seeking Allah’s guidance, and the answer may come through circumstances, feelings, or a sense of ease or unease in your heart.

Trusting Allah’s plan and being patient for the guidance to unfold is essential.
